Review 13: Singapore's Authoritarian Capitalism Asian Values, Free Market Illusions and Political Dependency, by Christopher Lingle (1996)

Reviewed by:

New Straits Times, January 13, 1996

"Besides recounting his own harrowing experience after publishing his vague criticism of illiberal Asian regimes, he offers a libertarian critique of the Singapore regime, condemning its authoritarian ways... Lingle essentially articulates an individualist critique of Singapore's authoritarian capitalism, comparing State intervention on the island with collectivist and communitarian experiments elsewhere."
